How To Clean Restoration Hardware Area Rugs (Restoration Hardware Area Rug Cleaning)

As a professional area rug cleaning company in Orange County, CA, one of the most popular brands of area rugs (or carpets) we see is Restoration Hardware. We professionally clean several RH area rugs per week. When it comes to Restoration Hardware area rugs, we know these rugs are an expensive investment and that it is important to maintain the quality and look of them. We also know just how tricky they can be to clean.

Being an area rug manufacturer AND professional cleaning facility, we understand Restoration Hardware area rugs to a tee. We know RH’s collections well, and are experienced with their different constructions, materials and fibers. We also have seen firsthand what can happen when these area rugs are not properly cared for. Our customers bring damaged Restoration Hardware rugs to us often, asking if there is anything we can do to revive them. Unfortunately, many RH rug owners aren’t familiar with just how delicate these area rugs can be, and will likely try to treat stains themselves, at home, or will hire a steam cleaner to try to do the work of a professional area rug cleaner.

Fortunately, we are a professional rug cleaning company and we can help. We have the tools, technology, experience and knowledge to treat even the most delicate or tricky of area rugs — and yes, of course this includes all Restoration Hardware area rugs! In fact, if we can’t clean them, or revive them, then quite frankly no one can. We have been cleaning RH area rugs in Orange County, CA for over 20 years now.

Browning

Over our 20 years, we have seen just what can happen if you do not bring your Restoration Hardware rug(s) to a professional cleaning company, such as our Refined Carpet | Rugs team. Often times, an improper cleaning will result in your carpet browning. Browning occurs when cellulose fibers get wet and aren’t dried properly. When your carpet gets wet, the water soaks deep into these fibers, and then natural evaporation pushes that moisture up to the tips of the fibers, resulting in browning. With our quick, thorough and proper drying techniques, we are able to effectively prevent area rug browning. We have a temperature and humidity-controlled drying room, as well as a natural drying room, that allows us to properly dry each and every different type of area rug.

Viscose

One of the most common types of Restoration Hardware rugs we come across is viscose. Many customers find us after looking for a professional rug cleaning company who will take on viscose. Viscose is a very difficult and delicate fiber to work with, and many rug cleaners refuse to even try cleaning it. Fortunately, our team at Refined Carpet | Rugs is not scared of viscose ;) In fact, we treat viscose rugs often. Since viscose is such a “weak” material it can be damaged very easily. For example, something as simple as over saturation can significantly weaken the fibers. Viscose rugs also need to be properly dried, as any heat can damage the rug as well. Fortunately, we are extremely experienced in dealing with viscose rugs (from Restoration Hardware or anywhere else) and no the proper cleaning and drying techniques needed.

Pet Accidents

Additionally, many times customers bring their rugs to us after a pet accident occurs involving pet urine, pet vomit, pet feces, etc. The most important thing to note with pet accidents, is that they cannot effectively be treated at home. In order to fully remove the pet accident from an area rug, the rug needs a full-submersion wash, with an enzyme treatment. Otherwise, the vomit, urine, feces, etc., will just be spread out and worked further into the area rug (never rinsed or removed from it entirely). Furthermore, without the proper enzyme treatment, the bacteria and odor from the pet accident will still remain in the area rug, no matter how many times it is washed.

Sprouting

Another common occurrence is sprouting or snagging. Sprouting is the result of unraveled threads, that stick out — or sprout up — higher than all other loops and threads. They stick up and stick out, making for an obvious eye sore. While this is a common occurrence of hand-knotted rugs, it is important they are treated correctly. If pulled or tugged at, these sprouts can result in further unraveling, or even a hole in that area. We know exactly how to properly treat and trim these sprouts, keeping the structure and foundation of your area rug intact.

Sterilization

While not uniquely applicable to Restoration Hardware rugs, it is also always important to have your rug sterilized. Just as pet accidents can remain within your rug, human bacteria and viruses can as well. With a proper sterilization cleaning, we can remove even flu viruses from your area rug. This is especially important if you, your kids, or any other guests (human or furry) spend time on your rug. You never know what is living on your rug, and that is why it best to have your rug professionally cleaned regularly.

Whether your Restoration Hardware rug is made of wool, silk, linen, viscose, tencel, nylon, hyde, sheepskin, polyester, polypropylene, etc., we have the tools, technology, experience and knowledge to treat even the most delicate or expensive of area rugs.
